Dizziness and fainting (syncope)

Dizziness and fainting may be caused by transient reduction or even interruption of blood flow to the brain. Underlying narrowing of the aortic valve of the heart (outlet valve of left heart chamber), narrowing of the muscular outlet of left heart chamber beneath the aortic valve and cardiac arrhythmias are very important and commonly encountered causes of fainting.
